Akin Farm Wendy & Michie Akin have been farming for over 20 years. And like us, they use only organic methods to raise their crops. They also use cover cropping & crop rotations. We're happy to cooperate with them because we share the same values about tending land & raising food. You can read more about their farm here on localharvest.org.

Bee Charmer Bee Charmer is our source of local honey from Rockwall & Collin counties from beekeeper extraordinaire Janet Rowe. This honey is made in small batches and hand processed. Hand processed honey contains pollens, propolis and small pieces of wax that commercially produced honey has heated and filtered out. Local honey contains pollen from plants in the area that are allergens to residents unlike commercial honey, which is a blend of honeys from many different countries. Therefore, eating local honey may help you desensitize yourself to these allergens. Pollen is rich in protein, minerals and vitamins. Propolis is used in many countries as an elixir for the body and a balm for wounds. Propolis, a material that honeybees collect from plants, contains resin, vitamins, amino acids, minerals and bioflavonoids. And the minute particles of wax remaining in the honey add to the total flavor experience. We sell Bee Charmer honey. Click here to contact Janet directly.

Moon Dance Farm Moon Dance Farm is located on five acres in Rockwall County where Jacque Kirk and her husband have a half-acre garden, free-range chickens, goats, a donkey, dogs, cats, flowers, herbs, trees, birds, and soon, bees. Their chickens are for eggs, compost, bug control, and enjoyment. Her philosophy in sustainable organic gardening/farming is “Working the land for generations to come so they may enjoy the colorful diversity of a healthy bioculture.” Benefiting generations include not only their family but the soil microbes, birds, bees, insects, animals, plants, trees, air, water, humans; basically all living things. We're proud to cooperate with Jacque. We resell her farm fresh eggs and organic produce.

Blackland Coffee Company
Unfortunately, we can't grow coffee here in Rockwall County. In terms of
coffee production, the best we can do locally is choose the best green
coffee while supporting organic farming methods, sustainability,
transparency and fair-trade practices, then roast them with purpose and
love, and deliver them fresh and roast-dated.
